Apparently now is the time to announce one's candidacy for president. So in the event there was any doubt, I'm in!! I hope my campaign financiers will sponsor a bus tour for me and my family so I can get out and meet you all and kiss lots of babies. (That's how one wins right?)
Now which party's ticket am I running on? Well the Republicans are who's announcing or rumoring lately. The thing is I don't feel like a republican, but mostly because I don't believe any of them act what they preach on the campaign trail once they get into office. Rick Perry, rumored Republican candidate is a perfect example of this. I will go into more detail in the coming weeks if he officially puts his hat in the ring.
I could run as a libertarian, but we all know they get no where.
I can't run as a Democrat because as we are all aware from last elections that "liberal" is a bad word. That and I don't share most of their beliefs. Though we share a few that if talking on certain particular topics, one might think me a democrat. But I'm far from it.
I could run for the Green party nomination, but lets be honest, Ralph Nader has that locked up until he dies.
So I guess that leaves Independent. But here's the problem with that. When was the last time anyone other than a Democrat or a Republican got elected president? That said in order to make the point that neither party is living up to expectations, I'm going with Independent. Look at my platform page to see what I stand for.
A vote for Lola is a vote to take your country back. It's a vote for your liberty. It's a vote for personal pride. It's a vote against the lame humans that are screwing up this country's economy.

Don't Take Freedom for Granted
The 4th of July is the day we supposedly celebrate our freedom in this country. But do we ever stop to really think about what that means? Year after year our state and national representatives pass laws that are continually encroaching on our freedom and independence. And how to we repay them? We re-elect them to continue passing more and more laws that take away our freedoms. Some in ways that are so minor that we don't even notice or bother to care. But one day you wake up and you find yourself taking for granted that you are relying on the government for something.
Take Social Security for example. Look how many people rely on it for their retirement. Look how many people don't want to give it up because of how much they've already paid into it or because they are a few years away from getting it. I'd give it up right now if they'd quit taking it out of my check, but they won't do that because they have to take from me to give to those that aren't working anymore. Ponzi Scheme. And as a nation we seem to be ok with the government run ponzi scheme. We depend on it. We look forward to our return, even though they keep pushing back our eligibility for it, and cutting the benefit.
When is enough going to be enough? When are we going to take back our independence from our own government?
Have a safe and happy Independence Day!

Don't Mess With The U.S.A
Being from Texas we have a popular slogan "Don't Mess With Texas." It was developed for a littering campaign and somehow caught on and hasn't gone away. As President I'd like to take that a few steps further. I don't want other countries messing with or breaching the security of this great country. I don't want anyone messing with legal immigration by coming here or staying here illegally. I don't want anyone messing with or undermining the great pride we have in this country. That said. Free speech is free speech, I don't intend to mess with our freedoms. Just like I don't want anyone messing with, or jeopardizing our freedoms. Freedom of speech. Freedom to choose your religion or to choose not to have one. Freedom to work hard to live the American dream. Freedom to be personally responsible for ourselves and freedom to encourage personal responsibility in others. Freedom to choose your child's education. Freedom to own personal property. Freedom to protect your personal property.
We have all kinds of freedom in this country that people inside and outside of our country try and will continue to try and infringe upon and take from us. Riley and I intend to protect the freedom this country was founded upon and intended for its citizens. We won't hesitate to hold those responsible for attempting to take away our freedom.
